At a glance

GIF Reverser is a free browser tool for reversing animated GIFs. The core conversion runs in your browser, inside a web worker. When you choose a GIF, your browser reads the file locally, decodes its frames, writes a new GIF in reverse order, and creates a temporary download link. The original and reversed files are not uploaded to our server by the converter.

Files you choose

The GIF file stays in the browser tab while the conversion is running. We do not ask you to create an account, submit an email address, or provide payment details. The original file is not stored in a project library, and the temporary object URLs used for preview and download are released when the page is reset or closed. Your browser, operating system, extensions, or network provider may have their own logs and caches; those are outside the control of GIF Reverser.

The tool accepts GIF input and limits the browser-side file size to 80 MB so that memory use remains predictable. A large or malformed file can fail during decoding. A failed conversion is cleared from the page and does not create a server-side copy.

Diagnostics and analytics

The site may use privacy-respecting analytics configured by the site operator to understand page visits, browser compatibility, and aggregate performance. These services can receive ordinary request information such as an approximate location, device type, referrer, or a randomly generated event identifier. Analytics do not receive the GIF bytes produced by the converter. If an analytics provider uses cookies or similar technologies, your browser settings and the provider's policy control those technologies.

Hosting and security

The page is delivered by our hosting provider over HTTPS. Like any public website, it may receive standard server logs such as timestamps, request paths, status codes, IP addresses, and user-agent strings for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. These logs are separate from the local GIF conversion and do not contain the contents of your selected file.

No online service can promise absolute security. Keep sensitive or regulated media on a trusted device, review the download location before sharing a result, and close the tab when you are finished. If a browser extension or third-party tool modifies the page, its own data practices apply.

Children and accounts

GIF Reverser has no account system, member profile, paid plan, or user dashboard. The service is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at collecting information from children. Do not submit personal information in a filename, support message, or public issue.

Your choices

You can use the tool without signing in. You can refuse optional cookies through your browser, disable analytics where supported, clear this site's storage, or stop processing by closing the tab. Because the conversion is local, we generally cannot retrieve, inspect, export, or delete a GIF for you: we never receive the file in the first place.

We may update this policy when the site, hosting, or analytics configuration changes. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision. For privacy questions, describe the page and issue without attaching a private GIF or other sensitive material.
